Britney: For The Record
Poor Britney. Honestly, I garnered a few strange looks for standing by and supporting Britney, but this documentary REALLy changed the way I thought about the media and the cultural phenomenon of celebrity. My whole perspective changed about viewing and making
harsh judgements towards those who are in the public media after viewing this, especially after the scene where Britney tries to enter a store and is mobbed. Just take a look into the cameramen's eyes...so hollow and detached. Almost survival mode to get a picture of this human who was no longer even being viewed to them as a human but as their livelihood, as their meal ticket. And the fact that the crazed state of celebrity obsession has transformed people into meal tickets, scares me.
It frightens me.
And yes, it may seem trivial and silly that I am so passionate about an MTV documentary about Pop music sensation Britney Spears, it still speak volumes to the reality of celebrity life and
how we as the public FORGET that they are people in their own right.
Just take a look, trust me.
Watch, you won't regret it.
